*FINALLY*

Save the dates have been MAILED!!!!!! WASSSSSAAAAAAAP MOTHA' FREAAKAAAAS?!

god, that was probably the most single painful thing ive done regarding this wedding. and i get to do it again for the INVI-EFFING-TATIONS! goood... gooood...

oh... by the way... the cake has been ordered :D

dont ask me what its gonna look like, cause quite frankly i dont know anymore. LMAO!!!

i had a picture of what i wanted but my aunt left it at her house when we went for the tasting... so we were looking through the pictures they had there and i pulled 3 different cakes together and said "it has this, from that cake, and this from that cake and then has blah blah blah...."

we put our heads together and were CONVINCED we had it right.

then she gets home and goes "oh...so... remember how we thought it had that pattern?"

"yeah?"

"it doesn't"

"oh. haha"

so...... i mean.... its a cake. who cares.

but its gonna be almond cake... with raspberry jam and raspberry butter creme filling, with butter creme icing on the outside. its delicious... trust me... im the worlds pickiest eater and *I* liked it. its good.

we may, or may not have a sheet cake depending on how many guests are coming... and if we do that will be red velvet w/ butter creme icing. :)

thats all for now.

WOW... long time, no blog...

Alrighty then! It's been a while... sorry... (to my whole THREE followers! ;) haha) I saw that the last entry I had was in April some time... that's pretty accurate considering I started work in Hershey in May, and there wasn't much wedding shiz going on around then.

So anyway... still working... still slacking on planning... lmao.

The STD's are late going out...

at first it was keith's fault cause he was taking FOREVER to get me the addresses i needed, (anyone notice how i magically reverted back to my horrible habbit of typing in all lowercase?) and then once he finally got them to me, i FOUGHT FOR THREE YEARS OF MY LIFE (three years, emily? really? THREE years?) to get right. turns out the template wouldn't open right in Pages, so i had to use my mom's computer to open it on Openoffice. (why didn't i just download Openoffice on my mac??? ...wow... in hindsight, that would have been WAY easier. im a genious.)

somewhere along the way i decided i didn't like plain ol' postcards, so i went on the hunt to staples, officemax, ac moore and micheals to find the cheapest strip of self-adhesive magnet tape.

micheals won. they had the longest roll out of everyone AND it was the cheapest price i found... who could beat that? Anyway, i cut the strips into one inch little guys and stuck them on the top and the bottom on the back of the postcards and TA-DA! instant jumbo magnets. Then i stuffed them in ivory invitation envalopes i bought at staples and stamped and labeled them... and NOW............ they're sitting on my desk. why? cause some of the labels need correcting and im too lazy to go back through them.

i also need to make up a couple more for some people who were late getting their addresses to me.

pfft.

i have to start looking for a seamstress soon... which... i mean... i *want* to do... but i have absolutely no desire to do so at the same time. gotta look for keith's tux soon... grandma is giving me money for the deposit on the limo, so that's gotta get booked soon... i have to remind keith about our ridiculously expensive flight that needs to be booked to the bahamas... (did i mention that already? we're going to the bahamas for our honeymoon...) uuuummm...

all the bridesmaids dresses are in.

OH... THAT'S a fun story... the Alfred Angelo story...

i dont feel like re-typing it all out so im going to copy/paste my rant from a weddingbook thread i started (feel free to skip over it... its really long...):

*******

you DB gals will love this.. ALFRED ANGELO RANT. (long. funny? shrugs)

...actually you david's bridal girls could probably give two sh*ts, but i thought it would be funny to mention since you are all so passionate about DB wink

okay. so.

i didn't get MY dress from alfred angelo, but i DID have my BRIDESMAIDS get them from there.... and well... it has been an interesting experience thus far. let me see if i can remember everything AWESOME that happened.

#1. first day i went in there, i was waiting for BM number one because she was running a little late. i admit i was a LITTLE "rocked out"... k, but thats no reason to be ignored... im a bride... AND a paying customer. i walked in... they looked at me like i was the creature from the black lagoon... when they didn't say hello and just stared at me, i told them why i was there and then they told me i could wait in the back where the seats were. so i started to walk back there... with my dress in its garment bag, i might add... the one i didnt buy from there... and one of the girls stops me and tells me i can't put it on there. well no shit. i told her the only reason i brought it was to compare colors. she told me again i can't put it on in the store. "i dont WANT to put it on... i just want to hold the swatches up to the dress to see what works."

"okay, but you can't take it out, it has to stay in the bag"

"i understand, i just need to compare color."

so annoying.

so then i sat there. no one bothered to come up and ask me if there was anything in particular i was thinking about having her try on... no one tried to sell me on anything else (not that i particularly LIKE that... but... i mean its nice to be paid attention to... it only gets annoying when you have to say no to something a bazillion times, but NO ONE even bothered talking to me once i sat down). my brides maid FINALLY showed up and we waited another 5 minutes before someone decided to come help us even though we had an appointment.

#2. same day. the dress i wanted my BM to try on... they had it in a size 28 and a size 28 ONLY. she's a size 2. their excuse for that was because "its prom season and a lot of our smaller sizes have been bought for prom". we ordered the dress anyway WITHOUT her even trying it on. ... we just decided to cross our fingers.

i called back later to ask what was gonna happen with the REST of my bridesmaids since the rest of them had their appointment the weekend after and they're all wearing different styles so they would want to try them on... and since it was, you know, prom season, i didn't want ALLLL of them to come down for NOTHING. they looked up all the dresses and assured me they had them all in several sizes.

#3. our second visit was better... however... when i went to go pay for the deposit for my first bridesmaid (i wanted all the dresses to be bought together so she gave me the money and then i paid it for her the weekend after when i went in with the rest of my bridesmaids) they couldn't find her in the system. they spelled her last name wrong. nickel. its not hard. its like the currency you use every day. n-i-c-k-e-l. nickel. i was the one that finally went "try typing it in n-i-c-k-l-e ... i bet she typed it in wrong. the girl didn't seem like she thought that was possible. who was right? thats right... this kid *points at self* I dunno about you, but when i worked retail ANY TIME i had to put anyone's name in the computer... NO MATTER how simple it was... i always double checked the spelling with them. common sense ya'll.

#4 really REALLY annoying solicitation calls. i got a call from a mary kay rep... how'd she get my number? she has a special "relationship" with the AA I went to. i already have a makeup artist. i didnt ask for help looking for one. i got several other calls from unknown numbers, im willing to bet were solicitation calls through AA.

#5 (maybe you could call it 4.5) I called AA after my little chat with Mary about her Kay and told them that "i dont know what list you have me on, that i didnt ask to be on, nor consented to be on, but i want off it." they assured me THEIR store had nothing to do with it, but they don't have control over what "corporate" does with our numbers. nice. they promised to take me off the list.

4 days later, i get a 2 minute long message from a sales rep at AA telling me about their 20% off bridesmaids dress sale and a bunch of OTHER things that i wasn't interested in. I called them back and said "i just asked you people to take me off a calling list... that includes calls from your store as well." the told me they'd take me off.

2 weeks later... i get ANOTHER call... from them... about bridesmaids dress sales....

pause for a minute. are you people retarded? seriously? LOOK IN YOUR SYSTEM BEFORE YOU CALL ME. you'd see that i ALREADY had FIVE BRIDESMAIDS BUY BRIDESMAIDS DRESSES... WHY are you calling me about SALES for something i ALREADY have?

i called again and very sternly told them that i ALREADY called twice about NOT wanting to be called about ANYTHING. "i already have EVERYTHING set for my wedding, so i dont need any suggestions or any help, thank you. if i need something, ill call you. i promise."

i haven't gotten a call since.

#6 Christine's dress came in and she texted me about it... so i called AA to see who else's dress was in. they told me mirit's dress and andy's dress was in. i called andy and mirit to make sure that AA did their jobs and called them themselves. they called andy... they DIDN'T call mirit. i find out 2 weeks later when they think the reason she hadn't picked up her dress yet was because they HAD THE WRONG NUMBER. someone called them back finally to tell them to stop calling THEM cause THEY had NO IDEA what dress they were talking about. im pretty sure she said it was a GUYS number too. sweet.

...i dunno about you.. .but when i worked retail.. i DOUBLE CHECKED ANY NUMBER i had to write down that belonged to a customer.

#7 when i called about the other dresses i was told the shipping date for sarah and lillians dress. sarah's dress was supposed to ship on june 26th. lillians isn't supposed to ship until july 20something... so sarah's should have already gotten to the store, but i hadn't heard anythign from sarah about the dress so i decided to call AA this morning.

i asked 2 questions:

1. did sarah's dress ship and get to the store, and if so did she pick it up?
answer: yes, she already picked it up.

2. did lillian's dress ship yet and if not, when is it supposed to because i don't remember.
answer: its not supposed to ship until july 20something... so it hasn't even left yet.

thank you.

...or should i have really said that? why you ask? here's why...

i was at the dollar store with my mother shopping for some of our wedding favors and as we were putting the stuff in the car my mom goes "oh yeah, thats lilly's dress right there!" and she points to her backseat. "what dress?", i ask cause i can't really see it. "her WEDDING DRESS!" "ooh i wanna see!" and as im looking at it... it occurs to me.... i was told it hadn't even left the... whatever... yet. nice.

so i text sarah. "i was told this morning you picked up your dress... did you?" sarahs answer: "nope, im going to get it tomorrow"

okay... so WHY THE HELL was i told 1. that sarahs dress was shipped (which is true) and already picked up (which was NOT true) and that lillians dress was still in that place that dresses live before their shipped to the store (which was not true) and that it wasn't picked up because it hadn't even shipped yet (which was DEFINITELY not true... unless the whole thing was just a hallucination.). not to mention the girl on the phone sounded annoyed that id even be asking those questions.

so yes... all in all.. .it wasn't a TERRIBLE experience... but the reason it WASN'T was because i was ON TOP OF MY SHIT and didn't trust a word anyone was telling me... cause if i had i could be writing a "wedding woe" driven post about my BM dresses right now.

moral of the story ladies: call often. double check everything you book/order and make sure things are happening like they were told to you... and if not... why.

*******

...so anyway... thats that.

i can't think of anything else that needs talked about right now.

...well actually... i thought there was *one* other...... oh yeah. i just worked on the wedding website.... so it should be (mostly) up to date now.

... now i have to update our registry (ugh.)

ok... NOW thats it. :)
